Agate & Jade necklace

Agate & Jade necklace

This is probably one of my most famous custom pieces. I made something similar for a client in 2003 using larger pieces of jade and black and white pearls. Her pendant was a 2″ piece she picked up on her travels.  I liked it so much that I made me a smaller copy. Instead I used smaller jade and new jade beads, round cistrine beads, hematite and black glass beads in place of her pearls and I found this carve agate pendant.  Every time I wear it, I get compliments then immediate orders with several color variations. I’m working on one right now that will be more green/yellow.

Using these materials, this set is $35.  I made similar sets for as low as $20 and as much as $300.

Black and white, with a splash of turquoise, this set is perfect for an evening out. The set includes the necklace, bracelet and earrings.

I’m not a wearer of pink, so it’s hard at times, for me to design with the color. I get materials and look at them, think about them and put them away for another day.  Well, I stumbled upon this pendant and remember the gold lined beads with little pink flowers I had bought for a bracelet done for another client. Toss in some pink Swarovski crystals and it was kismet.

The necklace is about 19″ long, and also has pink seed beads. It all ends in a gold-plated screw clasp.  There are also earrings and a bracelet that will go great with this piece.  Perfect for a wedding or prom.

Natural Necklace

There’s something calming about wearing natural stones, that generally don’t rate as gemstones.  Somehow it seems to anchor you more to the ground, than say a sapphire or diamond faceted to precision may not.  This necklace, with its earth tones and shells does just that. Made with two types of jade and agate and cistrine chips, the colors all work together to supporr the large reddish agate pendant.
